Kind Words

I have always followed and admired the work Sharyn has done, and Witchuition seemed like the perfect space for me to explore my interest in all things witchy and magical while still being mindful of social justice issues. Choosing to join this program has been one of the best things for me during a very turbulent and stressful period of my life. I am incredibly grateful to Sharyn and everyone in the program for giving me space and providing encouragement and support, not only for the witchy stuff but also personal matters that have been helpful for my growth.

Sharyn helped me figure out how I truly felt about certain matters, among many other things that allowed me to recognize some thought patterns and actions. I’ve been able to see how I'm often stuck in trying to control the outcome of various situations and how my motivation often seems to be influenced by how others will perceive me.

The one lasting impression that gave me a huge impact was realizing that I'm actually burnt out. Just becoming aware of this was such a huge help, and allowed me to shift my perspective with rest. I've come to understand how to rest without guilt. It's also helped me in the process of becoming more in touch with my body and listening to the signs she gives me.

Regardless of whether one is into magical and witchy stuff or not, joining Witchuition is such an empowering and helpful experience. It is a beautiful program that has a welcoming and open community where everyone is given space in each session. There is plenty to learn and it’s amazing to be surrounded by others who genuinely listen and provide care and support. It’s truly a supportive space that has greatly helped me. Once I’m in a more stable place in terms of finances, I would love to work with Sharyn again, whether it is to join the program or something else. - Lexie Dizon

I was attracted to work with Sharyn because I sensed both unapologetic anger and clear insight in their anti-racism teachings.
Also because she is neurodivergent and Australian based, offering meaningful views on local issues that are directly relevant in my world.
This powerful combination signalled a sensitive and disciplined mind, with deep reach and grasp.
As a biracial Asian and bisexual human, Sharyn has lived experience of and insider perspective on systemic oppression and marginalisation that can be too easily hidden from privileged white folks like me.
Their willingness to share their knowledge to educate culturally ignorant humans into awareness, analysis, action and accountability is of immense value.
Inside their circle, Sharyn is warm and supportive and real.
I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from them in an intimate small group environment.
Sharyn’s authenticity and passion are clear to see.   Sharyn shared their experience openly and honestly.
Their anti-racism is intersectional, acknowledging the further challenges of gender, sexuality, body shape and ability.
Following the training, I found I needed time to reflect and integrate the content - there was a LOT to learn.
From working with Sharyn, my mind and heart and eyes have been opened to the reality that race-based inequity needlessly makes the lives of millions of humans difficult and dangerous.  And that I have the capacity to make a difference through raising awareness and taking increasing action as I continue to learn and grow on my own journey to self-acceptance and power.
Ultimately that my own true freedom is inescapably connected with the liberation of all people, especially the most oppressed.
That liberation and revolution are a process - the process! - and we're in it together. - Rachael Skyring

Working with Sharyn for six months has given me confidence and clarity on what I need to do next. Before working with Sharyn I was feeling anxious and unsure - I knew I needed to do more, learn more and be better. I knew that I could no longer stay ignorant and that staying in that space would not only be a disservice to others, but would have real consequences in my business and personal life. White folks can no longer sit on the sidelines and claim that social justice work and anti-racism work isn't necessary for us. There is no industry, workplace or community where this work isn't absolutely imperative. If you deal with people in any capacity, if you market your services, if you share resources, if you hold space for others, if you engage on social media, if you have any kind of platform.... you need to do this work.

Working with Sharyn was a deeply nurturing experience. I felt safe to explore, learn and grow while knowing that any fragility on my part would be addressed so I could keep learning. Sharyn has a remarkable way of taking all their research (and believe me, Sharyn is constantly researching and learning more) and putting it together in a way that's digestible and understandable. The space Sharyn holds to guide you forward is a beautiful combo of honesty, wisdom, deep understanding, lived experience and empathy. If you haven't done this work yet; if you feel a bit useless and like you don't know where to begin; if you feel embarrassed; if you feel angry and ready to do something then you need to unpack your privilege with Sharyn. It takes time to process and to implement and to keep unpacking and keep learning but it's imperative that we all start. - Amanda Rootsey, Shine From Within

Sharyn’s work, and this course, is IMPORTANT. I can think of no higher compliment to give than that.
The course is also interesting, well organised, and it is clear that Sharyn has put a great deal of work into developing it. The content is delivered with clarity and care. But more importantly, it is deep, meaningful and necessary work. We need more content like this in the world, and I am very glad that I was lucky enough to take this course.

I am fortunate enough, in my day job, to work in an area where I meet and collaborate with people from all countries, backgrounds, races and religions. We frequently have spirited and in-depth discussions about systemic discrimination and racism. So if I’m perfectly honest, I wasn’t sure, at first, how much I would get from Sharyn’s course beyond my day-to-day learning. But I decided to enroll in the course because I was curious, and because I’m white, and privileged, and there’s always more we can learn, right? Now, having completed the course, I can safely say that I was wrong to be reticent. I learnt PLENTY. And I deeply appreciated the chance to revisit the things I already knew. Because if I had one main takeaway from the course, it is this: anti-racism work is daily work. It is not enough to learn something once, or to be open-minded or ‘woke’. For white people like me, these teachings are things we need to come back to again and again. Regular reminders are necessary, because it is so easy to slip back into silence and complacency. I am grateful that there are people like Sharyn who are willing to take the time to guide us through this. I recommend this course wholeheartedly to anyone.

Sharyn was my coach for three months. Not only did she keep me on track with my goals, but she grounded me in my strengths, made me believe I was capable of putting myself out there, and was an overall compassionate and present coach. She is passionate about her work which is evident in how she coaches and her commitment to anti-racist work and marginalized communities. If you feel stuck and need some soulful guidance, reach out to Sharyn! I am so grateful that I invested in someone that pushed me to invest in myself. - Nisha Mody

Unpack Your Privilege Course and 1:1 coaching was an awakening, initiation and catalyst for me. Sharyn is an excellent educator. There was plenty of information, and with each replay (I replayed multiple times to absorb it all!) I uncovered more layers and subtlety in my reflections. It's had a profound impact on how I see the world and my place in it. I felt immobilised prior to UYP, unsure how to translate knowledge into behaviour. As a result of this training I feel able to take action and use my voice. I have developed more of an understanding of where I fit into the system of privilege and white supremacy, and what I can do with my privilege. I am still seeing the ripple effects of this training 9 months later. - Emma Shields

Our Academy engaged Sharyn to guide a telecall with our coaches on the topic of Race, Social Justice and The Coaching Industry. Sharyn held an amazing space for the coaches to ask questions, deepen their understanding of their own privilege and the roles they can all play as professional coaches to address issues such as white supremacy, patriarchy and internalised oppression.  I chose Sharyn to do this with us because of her passion, commitment and dedication to social justice issues and knew she would bring all of herself to the call in service to others. And that she did. Thank you Sharyn for the incredible work that you do. It's making a true difference in the world and every person left that call feeling inspired and greater prepared to take action.

I invested in the expert consultation of Sharyn Holmes to provide me with an action (and education) plan to help me develop an anti-racism and inclusivity statement and path of action for the Institute.
Their probing questions and deep insight got straight to the heart of what I stand for, and that whilst I am anti-racist, there is only silence on my website and social media on this topic, which at this point means I don't stand for anything.
It is not enough to have a private position on white privilege, racism and inclusivity. I have a statement about gender diversity. I have actions to support women of socioeconomic disadvantage to access my programs but I don't have a statement on racism.
I will be working on this consistently, diligently and over time. There are things can be done immediately and things that will take time.
Sharyn is amazing, deeply considered, and I am so grateful for their contribution to what I am creating. I encourage you to invest in their time and wisdom and take the actions she recommends.
I am ready to step into the unknown, get uncomfortable and to demonstrate what I believe publicly.
Thank you Sharyn Holmes. There is work to be done.

- Ricci-Jane Adams, Institute for Intuitive Intelligence

I HIGHLY recommend Sharyn Holmes and their anti-racism consults for HSP / Empaths who’ve already begun to dismantle whiteness in themselves. She creates an actionable plan and ways to be accountable. Find them, hire them, it can’t wait.

Sharyn lives gutsy leadership, driven by their fierce heart and intolerance for injustice. The strength this human holds in their heart to turn up each day and fight for what she believes in constantly blows me away. Sharyn leads from the front, putting herself out there and calling out those who cower in the shadows. There is no room for complacency or comfort in this work. Sharyn’s warrior cry is Wake Up! - we can all do better, and her is spirit fuelled by compassion, empathy and a quest for justice.
I first crossed paths with Sharyn through youth mentoring, admiring their offerings for young women. Since then, our paths have continued to cross. It is a privilege to not only know this incredible human online, but in person; to have listened to their open heart when gently teaching around the dinner table, but also as a student in their profoundly honest, real, and thoroughly researched courses. If you are ready to start unpacking your privilege and exploring how you can do less harm, I cannot recommend Sharyn enough. In fact, I recommend them at any opportunity I can get, because in my opinion, she is one of the most beautiful, fierce, real and courageous souls, and she has a mission and a message that must be heard. - Bec Coldicutt, Rebel Starseeds

Sharyn is super knowledgeable in so many areas of social justice. Sharyn is supportive, challenging and gutsy, and she's inspiring us all to do and be more. - Michaela Rosandich

Many people waver, when it comes to owning their passion, their unique creative expression, and their gifts. This is where Sharyn naturally stands out: she colours waaaaay outside the lines of conforming and with this, is a brilliant leader in connecting to one's truth and one's creativity.
Through their words and guidance, she has inspired countless numbers of women to follow their path, as unconventional and non-linear as it may seem, to create pure magic, and live their lives in the flow and on purpose. I am deeply honoured and blessed to know Sharyn and to be a part of their world. - Vienda Maria

I received a scholarship from Sharyn to take this course. BOY, was it a journey. The course was inspiring, insightful and taught me about sustainable activism as well as ENDING fragility and turning it into action. Highly recommend. She's an incredible leader and she is doing work that MUST be supported in Australia and abroad. Go to @sharynaholmes to pay for her work and learn from her expressive teaching. - Nina Darling, @blackwriterspolitique

Sharyn brings so much heart and soul to work that is neither easy nor comfortable - their commitment to supporting and guiding others to unpack our privilege is awe-inspiring and Sharyn's passion shines through in everything she does. Sharyn's presence on social media, sharing their knowledge and shining a light on all communities affected by white supremacy, capitalism and other forms of oppression is just the start of what makes Sharyn a stand out teacher. Their Unpack Your Privilege Workshops are thought-provoking, deeply compassionate to the many issues facing different communities, and packed full of research. If you think following Sharyn's (unpaid) work on social media is enough, I can assure you it is not. You're doing yourself, Sharyn, and - let's face it - the world a disservice by not investing in this work. - Katherine Mackenzie-Smith

As someone who has purchased many of Sharyn's classes and offerings - I hand-on-my-heart believe that every business owner, coach and helping professional should allocate funds in their budget for working with her. Sharyn's teachings, coaching, consulting, events and community spaces help you become more aware of privilege, bias, racism, oppression and social injustice (including in the Australian context) - while more fully realising how you are upholding these in your business, work and life. Not only does Sharyn teach you the 'theory' - but helps you do the analysis required to determine what 'practice' and 'actions' are needed to learn, unlearn, and create change. If you truly care about being of service through your business and/or client practice, I cannot recommend working with Sharyn highly enough. - Naomi Arnold

I took The Unpack Your Privilege class on spiritual spaces. It was so educational, powerful & opening to what I have experienced in the 20+ years in the spiritual space. As I invite women from diverse backgrounds into a space of healing, always remembering to allow for our humanity & for the real lived experiences of those marginalized. Although I am culturally Latina & of Indian background I realized through the webinar (and other education I am involved in) that there has been a lot of microaggressions I overlooked as a student & want to make sure I cultivate Equitable (and sometimes separate) spaces for people to heal & be in their divine power.   I forwarded The webinars to whyte sisters who need further education in this area. Thank you for what you do & for making it so accessible for all. - Asha Ramakrishna

To borrow words from their brands, Sharyn Holmes truly is gutsy and formidable! I'm so thankful she is sharing wisdom through the Unpack Your Privilege Course, and I can't stress enough how important this work is for every white person, whether in business (spiritual or otherwise!) or transformative personal healing. I have found Sharyn's unique approach, their ability to share their own vulnerabilities, and their understanding of Highly Sensitive &/or empath nature extremely valuable. Sharyn's teachings cover so much, and have deepened my understanding of bias, racism, and intersectional oppression, as well as how I personally can continue to know, and therefore do, better. Although Sharyn's scope is global, I think we are very fortunate to have a leader like Sharyn based here in Australia and I believe she will continue to shake things up and contribute to big shifts within our culture through UYP and other offerings. - Beth Johnson

Sharyn, the way you show up in the world is a much needed radical mix of power, authenticity, vulnerability, kindness and clarity. There have been times in my life recently when I felt like I had none of those things in me. Working with you showed me that I can be all of those things and more. You have shown and taught me how to have boundaries when I needed them most. You have taught me not to compromise my worth. Your influence on me has helped me get safe and change my life for my children and me. Thank you so much. - E.N.

Putting myself out there, stepping up, knowing I had to do this work was an extremely empowering time. Sharyn’s Unpack Your Privilege classes were giving me space to look at myself, where I am and what I need to do to challenge the unjust systems. It’s not all easy, there are questions and times for deep self-reflection and work. Unpacking long-ingrained thoughts I grew up with, I can honestly say that Sharyn helped me find my own true voice I thought I had lost. A wonderful, challenging and worthwhile series to participate in. Thank you. - Margaret Sky

I felt drawn to Unpack Your Privilege because of the emphasis on personal responsibility and ownership. It went beyond the knowledge you can learn academically, exploring ways to be conscious of the privilege you know you have but take for granted. Sharyn has a talent for saying the things you need to hear in a way that you actually hear them, providing a caring environment and thoroughly researched guidance to help you navigate the often-confronting work of self-examination. - Kris Emery
